There are millions of diverse insects present in today’s day and it is quite impossible to have knowledge on each and every one of the different insect species spread across the world, unless you choose to make a career out of it, then it maybe a necessity. For the rest of us who do not plan on being an Entomologist, here are a few of the main insects you are most likely to come across.

Ants

Apart from other insects, ants have over 12,000 species across the world. But one of the most mistaken type of ant is the booklice control http://www.biocycle.com.hk/ourservices_hp.php these ants are in fact referring to a termites and are not in anyway related to ants. The most common type of ant is the social ant, they form colonies which consists of millions of ants; there are three kinds of ant colonies, one that consists of a queen ant, female worker ants and male ants. It is said that the queen and the male ants have wings and the rest of the workers do not. The queen is the only ant that can lay eggs. Ants are usually found near food, such as meats and oils, but they are mostly attracted to anything sweet.

Moths

Research shows that there is approximately 160,000 species of moths; this insect is also related to butterflies. Many find it difficult to differentiate between butterflies and moths a butterfly antenna is usually very thin where as a moth’s antenna contains more hair and can often vary. There are a diverse amount of moths that vary from pollinators to blood feeders. They are considered a food source to animals, birds and even other insects. Items such as silk, fur, feathers and hair attract moths.

Beetle

Beetles are a very common type of insect that is often mistaken for cockroaches when found in homes. Along with the rest of the insects beetles too have a variety of species; a beetle is different from other winged insects as they have the first pair of their wings hard and thickened, which acts as an armor for their fragile flying wings.

Bees

Bees are also flying insects, and are most commonly known for its pollination, there are many species of bees, and one of which are honeybees that are very famous for producing and storing honey. The bees pollinate by flying from one flower to another and collecting its nectar and pollen, they have tongues, which help them store the nectar until they get back to their bee nest to help them produce honey and help spread pollen to allow plants to reproduce. After reading the above you should have a fair knowledge on the most common type of insects and about the little things that make them unique.
